Only the best quality of Emmentaler and Gruyere cheeses are selected to be aged in the natural sandstone caves of Kaltbach. This method had a long tradition but got somewhat forgotten. It has been revived by Emmi. Unique conditions of the caves and the care given to the cheese result in a unique premium product.

Kaltbach Emmentaler is special not only because of its magnificently tangy, mature taste but also because of its naturally black rind, a result of an intensive maturing process in the Kaltbach caves in the Swiss canton of Lucerne.

Kaltbach Gruyère, the most popular of the hard cheeses from Switzerland, needs no introduction. Made from part-skim cow’s milk and lovingly cave aged, once this classic cheese with its tangy taste and exquisite, crumbly texture has been tasted, it is never forgotten.

Ready made Kaltbach Fondue – Made with cave-aged Kaltbach Emmentaler and Kaltbach Gruyère cheeses – aged for a minimum of 12 months. Made easy and ready to use.
