Kerrygold Introduces Two New Butters Reduced Fat and Naturally Softer Create New Functional Category for Real Butter.

Kerrygold is creating a new functional category for real butter with the introduction of Kerrygold Naturally Softer Pure Irish Butter for easy spreading and Kerrygold Reduced Fat Irish Butter, with 25 percent less fat and 50 percent less sodium.

Unlike current butter-type spreads, these are premium butters made with milk, cream and salt. They derive their functional benefits from the type of milk and how it is churned, rather than by introducing artificial ingredients.

As with all Kerrygold butters, the new butters are made with milk from Ireland’s grass-fed cows. The cows, raised on small family farms, are never given artificial growth hormones. Their milk is churned into butter at co-op creameries. The butters, available beginning in July, will be sold in 8-ounce plastic tubs. They are for spreading and basic cooking; they are not recommended for baking.

Kerrygold Reduced Fat Butter Kerrygold Reduced Fat Irish Butter has 25% less fat and 50% less sodium than traditional butter, yet it retains the rich flavor and mouthfeel of real butter. It is a natural butter without vegetable oil blends, distilled monoglycerides, butter flavoring or added color found in reduced-fat spreads.

It relies on the quality of the milk; not on non-dairy derivatives such as emulsifiers, thickening agents, flavorings and preservatives, for its natural flavor and texture. Kerrygold Naturally Softer Pure Irish Butter Kerrygold Naturally Softer Pure Irish Butter is a more spreadable premium Irish butter with the richness of traditional Kerrygold Pure Irish Butter.

It does not use less expensive vegetable oil or other additives to make the butter more spreadable. To churn softer butter, Kerrygold uses summer milk, which is highest in naturally softer milkfat. This milk is churned using a proprietary process that increases the softer milkfat to make a more spreadable butter.
